Silver Hill Lodge Drakensberg, South Africa,

This stunning property is located 3 km along the Highmore Road, 42 km from Nottingham Road and Mooi River on the N3 Highway, 480 km from Johannesburg and 185 km from Durban in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands. It comprises of 5 farms totaling 608.99 ha and includes 1 lodge (with 7 luxury ensuited units), 4 self catering units, & 6 homesteads. There is a large storage shed and workshop, a generator room plus domestic quarters which include 5 rooms and 2 bathrooms.
The main entrance has 2 gates, one of them electric. The front half of the property is protected by electric fencing and there are 8 CCTV cameras with backups and all homesteads have alarm systems. Each unit has a 10 DSTV hotel Bouquet with TV.
This amazing property boasts 7 trout dams which are stocked once a year and there is a 250m golf driving range situated just below The Lodge. There is a play area for children consisting of a swimming pool, trampoline, jungle gym and volleyball net. Also included are a Massey Ferguson tractor, slasher rake and square bailer and a stockpile of 450,000 bricks for possible extensions.
The farm has 5 fenced paddocks for grazing cattle and the eastern slopes have red grass which is ideal for them. There is a river and 4 streams that run through the properties along with 4 boreholes.
Silver Hill Lodge borders the Ukhahlamba Drakensburg Park World Heritage Site. There are many species of Antelope including the Eland, Common Duiker, Klipspringer, Grey Reedbuck, Mountain Reedbuck and Oribi. A number of Raptor Birds can be found including the Cape and Bearded Vultures, Black and Fish Eagles and Jackal Buzzards. Owls and a variety of Cranes are often spotted.
The existing self-catering Lodge was renovated and extended to 1057 m in 2007 and now consists several different areas.

The Mountain Lodge
The Mountain lodge consists of 7 Luxury en-suite bedrooms (all sectionalised) with under floor heating. There is a queen bed downstairs and 3 single beds upstairs on the mezzanine. Glass sliding doors lead onto a private patio.
There is a large reception and office where Wi-Fi is available and this area also boasts a reading room on the mezzanine level.
A fully equipped licensed bar/lounge with TV, PA system control centre, cappuccino machine, 2 below counter fridges, ice machine and a large fireplace leads to a large patio and into the dining room. The dining room can seat around 40 to 50 guests with and has a large fire place between two enormous picture windows.
The fully catered kitchen has a gas stove and an electric stove, double raising shelf unit with stainless steel table, 3 microwaves, a chest freezer, fridge and tall freezer. There is a separate scullery to wash dishes and a walk-in fridge and freezer.
There is parking for all 7 rooms and undercover access to units and lodge.
The Sun Lounge has easy access from the dinning room. The magnificent views can be enjoyed with folding stack doors across the Little Mooi Valley, Mount Cleopatra and Mount Lebanon.

The Mountain Chalet
This upstairs self-catering unit sleeps 7 and is located at the rear of the Lodge and consists of 3 bedrooms, 1 and a half bathrooms, patio and an open plan full kitchen, dinning room and lounge with a fire place.
There are also covered parking bays positioned below this unit.

The Mountain Retreat
This open plan unit sleeps 6 and consists of a lounge and a bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom downstairs and a bedroom area in the mezzanine.
There are 2 covered parking bays under thatch. It has a covered patio and built-in fire place with stunning views. Downstairs is a room and bathroom that houses George - 24 hour security/general foreman.

3 Bedroom House & Cottage
This house is situated off the main Lodge 2 km further down the sand road, on the Little Mooi River.
Two security gates are the only access points. There are 3 garages which lead to a covered walk way to a Laundry room and the house and cottage.
The cottage consists of an open plan kitchen, 2 single beds, a queen size bed and a bathroom. The house has a scullery, full kitchen, dinning, room/Sun room with a built in BBQ and lounge with bar and fire place. The 3 bedrooms all have stunning views.
There are also 1.5 bathrooms, a 40 KVA generator, 4 stables and a 9m X 6m enclosed vegetable garden.
