Byron Bay Broken Head

The Kookaburra House is located in an idyllic rural setting only 5 minutes drive from one of the best surf beaches at Broken Head and 10 minutes drive to downtown Byron Bay, situated on a 5 acre property overlooking pasturelands and native bush land.

The house is an award winning (Winner of Master Builders NSW Regional Housing Award), architectural designed modern, light filled house overlooking the dam, pasturelands and rolling hills. The open space kitchen, dining and living area overlook the property blurring the definition of indoor and outdoor. You can open all the glass sliders and indoor and outdoor merge into one and the full-length deck extends the living space.

The pool becomes an extension of living space making the living area an easy and relaxed place to be whether having a meal, socializing with family or lying on the daybed reading a book. The main house has 4 bedrooms that sleeps up to 9 guests. The bedrooms are at the other end of the house to the living and kitchen which means a quiet place to rest. Each bedroom opens onto the deck and has views of the dam, hills and pasturelands. Two of the bedrooms have mezzanines for a quiet escape. There are 2 baths one indoors and one outdoor. There is also an outdoor shower to wash off the sand from the beach or after a swim in the pool.

The Kookaburra House has been designed with cross ventilation... very cool in summer and each room has a ceiling fan. There's outside awnings that are adjustable to provide more shade. There is a 40 inch screen TV & DVD player in main living area, 42 inch screen TV in media room/4th bedroom with DVD (Blue Ray) player.

Also on the property is a separate self-contained studio that sleeps up to 3 guests - perfect for the noisy teenagers to stay in!

Bedrooms 2, 3 & 4 share a main bathroom that has glass large shower separate bath, toilet and vanity. There is also a powder room that runs off the main living area which has a toilet and vanity avoiding use of the main bathroom while in the entertaining zone.

The studio consist of 2 main rooms - a bedroom that has a queen bed and a lounge area which has a daybed that converts to a double bed. There is a separate bathroom with shower and vanity.

New Year’s & Easter: $11,500
Christmas & January: $10,500
School Holidays $8,500 per week
High season: September – December & February – May $7,500 per week
Low season: June - August $6,500 per week

There is a strict 7 night minimum stay throughout the year. Each booking also entails a $150 cleaning & linen fee.
